From what I have been reading 1809 will not be patched fully till next month.

Microsoft Confirms Windows 10 Version 1809 File Overwrite Bug
Does this mean that MS will release the public 1809 update next month as well? I mean, I can't imagine that they would release 1809 before fixing such a serious issue.

More than likely. I highly doubt they'll have that fixed within a week.

Yeah, especially when they have announced that they are planning to fix the bug in November. Not sure how reliable this source is though.

It's definitely a PR disaster. I'm on the Skip/Fast ring build 18262 and experience none of these problems. I waiting for my wife, who did experience the deletion problem at least two builds earlier than when it was announced after 17763.` to finish backing up her stuff and then I'll install 18262 and see if I can put here bafk to the slow ring or just pause her insider builds or even remove her from the program.

In the Fast Ring build 18262.1000 it is already fixed so I don't know what the holdup is.

Since MS is not saying anything, that source is as close as you will get.

    Hi there
as anybody in marketing knows -- get your target customers to expect a product --by yesterday -- delay or restrict it so only a few "privileged" people can get it and then everybody wants it !!!

Best marketing ploy on the planet -- artificial shortage and ramp up demand.

"Basic Capitalism --101" from back in the times when humans first created commercial markets maybe around 5,000 years ago. Note -- No Politics -- Free markets work for me too -- but I do get a bit cynical from time to time as this type of stuff can go wildly out of control if there's no sensible business frameworks in place so it just doesn't become "dog eat Dog" all the time.

Ms will eventually sort this mess out -- they really aren't that stupid -- some stockholders etc will inject a bit of realism back into the market.

    Cheers
