I had the odd problem when I booted this morning that the bios reported the previous boot had errors. I just shut the machine down and booted again and it was ok.

The only "odd" thing I had after this update(on my main machine, as I haven't really messed around with my older backup ones), was with some of my OneDrive files.

Wanting to cleanup my OneDrive Documents folder, of older backed up stuff I don't need any more(like uninstalled 3rd party folders placed by some programs), I found I could not delete them

I even tried with OneDrive Online to do it, but, there was no delete option for those specific files & folders there

So after an hour of messing around looking for the reason for this, and a way to nuke them,(I currently do not have Controlled Folder Access turned on, so that is/was not the problem) I figured I would try just creating a folder and cut & pasting the files into it.

    That worked.

Then, while holding my breath, tried deleting the created folder.
    It worked!

I don't understand why people think it's so important to separate data from the OS. As I said, Macrium backs it all up just fine and it only takes me 20 minutes or so to restore my SSD boot drive.
Simple. The partition you're most likely to restore from a Macrium image is the OS. When you restore a partition everything is restored- not just the OS, but progs, settings and data.

So if you've just spent 3 hours updating your thesis which is held on C:, due in next week, and you have to restore yesterday's image, unless you have other backup arrangements e.g. syncing and set up correctly for that file, you've lost your work.

For anyone who manually disables services quite a few get reset following the upgrade.

The only problem I'm having is that Windows is starting way more slow than before the update. It shows the "waiting" text quite for a while before prompting up the login screen. Once the OS is fully started, I have 0 problems.

I've checked the start up programs, and everything is just as I left it before the update.

    Hi folks

If you go back and install 1803 via the current MCT the default is HOME unless you add the ei.cfg file to sources (prompts for which edition you want to install).

Now if you do get Home installed (did by error) then the problem is if you now want to do an update it asks for a product key and you have to enter one or you can't continue. (Windows not activated as it wasn't the original version installed on the machine).

I simply downloaded again via UUPdump the pro edition and re-installed -- working fine with PRO installed.

You do get the "I don't have a product key" on the screen as install progresses. Windows then activated with digital License as normal.

So either if using MCT or downloading ALL versions from UUPdump add the ei.cfg file to sources directory to get prompt of which windows you need to install.

    Cheers

Does a clean install sound like a good idea when the new MCT comes out for those of us already upgraded? Heck what else what was not thoroughly tested before we received this update?
