    Hi there
    working fine now

easiest upgrade ever -- unlike the last one which seemed to do zillions of system re-starts - this just did one and booted !!.

note : I did manual upgrade though from iso made from UUP. I'm not in the skippy program so I have to do it manually.

BUT : Snip and Sketch -- Can't find a delay option -- I think it existed in one build now it seems gone again so I still prefer snipping tool.

MR OK (patched version) and I can't see excessive memory consumption

One defect : One email account fails with outlook 2016 - might be character set etc -- tried ansi, utf-8 and Unicode -- same error

identical settings on outlook 2010 work

might be Nordic character set but works fine with outlook 2010.

Networking defect : Can see VM's and the host computer -- can't see any other computers on LAN - can reach via IP address.

Other computers can see skippy and all the VM's

Seems networking gets fixed and then something breaks it again - still keeping it running though.

    Update : 2 re-boots now networking fine ??

    cheers

This Build seems okay at first glance.

I'm growing weary, though, of MS's ever increasing unprofessional-ism!

    Hang tight! ???

C'mon MS!!! You used to be a dignified corporation!!!

First issue was memory with freeze and/or crash which was resolved when they pushed out the unencrypted files. Now I'm stuck in an endless cycle where it downloads without issue, begins install, and then fails with error 0x8024200d and begins downloading again.

Going to install with UUP Dump and may just stick with that method since it seems to give me much less problems than WU.

    UPDATE:

This affects only the installation process, I presume. If not, please advise.

I updated my desktop using a ISO made by UUPDump and UUPtoISO that I made on my laptop. From hitting Setup.exe to back at desktop took 1hour and 42 minutes. I just finished so I haven't had any time to test. On my laptop I used Windows update and it took less than 1 hour.

Wow! Am I glad I've been heads-down on some legal projects the last couple of days. Missed the announcement when it came out (and thus, the encrypted build) and fired up the install this morning on my Surface Pro 3 (about 25 minutes ago). Currently, it's at 99% and is bouncing between gettings things ready -- downloading -- AND installing. Weird! Memory consumption is running at about 50% (~4 GB of 8 GB total, give or take 300 MB). Fingers crossed that it completes, but will report as things progress (or not).

[1:05 later] Up to 3 failed attempts right now, even on MS hardware. Go figure! I don't have time to troubleshoot and repair right now (lots of deadlines through next Monday) so I may wait for the next Skippy to try again. Sigh.

] Third time's the charm? Apparently the third install attempt succeeded without any intervention from yours truly. Who knows why these things happen? Strange and wonderful, because I had no time for troubleshooting or manual baby-sitting. Sigh.

Has anyone tried making a backup image with Macrium without patching it?

    Hi there

    @Tews
no you need to still patch it.

    Defect 1 --- (I'm probably world's nr 1 expert in Breaking Systems !!!!).

Note I used the uup-->iso so starting from the iso rather than via windows update (skip ahead program closed).

    1) Update machine to skippy -- with Office 2010 installed -- no problems. Mega fast machine with 32 GB RAM -- 35 mins for the whole process.

    2) update to skippy with just basic Windows installed !! i.e just Windows and nothing else. Tried to install OFFICE 2010 -- fails. It's easy for me to test with different configurations -- takes me about 30 mins from ISO to update any previous version of Windows so loads of possibilities here -- keeps me busy until pub opens later !!!!!.

    Don't say I don't test stuff as much as I can !!!!

Defect 2 Language -- display language OK but can't get logon and lock screen in chosen alternative display language - that still seems to stay in ENG whatever I do -- there's no more "Advanced settings" where you could set the greeting / welcome screen in the alternate language. There might be but I can't find it.

(I like private flying too much to skimp on testing !!! -- you don't want to pilot a plane without ensuring all checks have been done properly !!!!).

    Cheers
