I'm getting tagged with KB4100347 coming up as an update on my Kaby Lake i7-7700HQ - 906E9 with microcode 8E… The article shows it applying microcode 84 which was applied by the OEM in Bios updates dated 2/19/18 and again 3/15/18. 8E was applied in Bios updates dated 7/3/18 and 8/10/18.

KB4346084 doesn't list my processor (which is probably why 4100347 is being pushed).
I think this is just because the .dll doesn't include ALL the new uCodes. A software patch is a 'fix-lite' and Microsoft are royally messing this up.

I have also received the KB4100347 update for my i7-6700HQ system and not KB4346084, I will wait for a while, if I don't get the update through WU, will have to update manually tomorrow.

Use HWInfo to check your CPUID & uCode and check against the Intel advisory (SA-00115) dated 08/08/18. It's possibly accurate.

Thanks for the response, I'm just going to hide the update until they fix it.

Is this the customary 2nd monthly Microsoft update that we've been experiencing for almost all of 2018? I have an AMD CPU in a 2010 HP Pavillion desktop, and this update came through today.

You should be updated to 17134.228 (or 16299.611) and have KB4100347 (or KB4090007), that's all you can do.
