The problem is it is more difficult in Windows 10 to change the default browser. In Windows 7 within Firefox or Chrome you could choose to make it the default browser from within the browser. Now you have to go outside the browser into Microsoft settings to change the defaults. Also when I upgraded to Windows 10 from Windows 7 where I had Firefox as my default browser the migration did not keep that preference and If you choose the default setup preferences it will make Edge the default browser.
It was easy enough that a 74-year old had no trouble making Chrome his default browser. And, gasp, he had no trouble changing his default search engine. Is Google going to complain now.

It's sad that some companies can't compete and seek assistance from the all-powerful government.

If someone WANTS Firefox to be his/hers default browser, it can be done. Easily. If someone is capable of the change, he is (should be) capable enough to run a Google search with something like "change default browser Windows 10". If he is not, than there is IT department or able cousin/son/step nephew...whoever. If nothing else, this actually makes me considering leaving Firefox for good.
