I am certain that having 17133.x installed before updating to 1803 is causing that issue with set default by apps. I updated from 16299 and didn't have it.
EDIT: and clean installed this time with release.
The indexing options window is empty Bree. Try restoring User and Start Menu. See also Win Search Dependencies for a component(s) that may not running properly. Lastly, check in C:\ properties If <<Allow files on this drive to have contents indexed in addition to file properties>> is enabled?
Just did a clean install with local account, when did they start making you have answer 3 security questions? No option to skip, that's lame, IMHO.
I have had a number of problems. LANConfigSvc.exe keeps crashing, security centre keeps having to scan after a reboot to get Norton and there are miner display problems, some programs “fade” rather than close, whiteness/brightness can vary when some program screens are opened. I have run sfc /scannow which didn’t find anything.
The ongoing bugbear is every new build I have weeks of trying to stop MS printer drivers being run and failing to install. I have working printer drivers but W10 keeps trying to install the MS ones.
O.K. Mine is running great except for one thing. My volume control for my Bluetooth speaker will not respond to changes. It plays the same volume no matter what I move the control to. Its an Anker Premium Speaker similar to the Bose Soundlink. If I plug it in via cable it works fine. If I change the volume in a program , WinAmp and VLC , it works just fine. (Bluetooth). But when its connected via Bluetooth the slider (bottom right on taskbar) does nothing. One volume and its LOUD. The slider works for the onboard speakers, my machine is a laptop (see spec's), after updating the driver.
I've updated all Bluetooth drivers. I've updated ALL the drivers actually, spent the last 2 1/2 hours doing that, going down the list in Device Manager. The Anker website lists no drivers for this, or any other Speakers they have actually. My question is : Have I forgotten anything? Heck, I even went to MSi's site and reinstalled the factory supplied/installed bloatware ...er…. Nahimic 2 "utility" hoping to remedy this through that. No joy obviously. So, am I missing something here or am I just going to have to get used to this cable?
