Except for a Restore point I'm out of idea's. I don't use a Mac or parallels, I use VMware with Windows 10 as the host but Windows running in parallels should be totally separate from the host and not cause a problem like that.
i'll give it go. hopefully it will work, i didn't even know windows had a restore point. sounds sort of like time machine. thanks for you input
Only thing with a restore point is that if you installed a program after the restore point you will probably have to reinstall it, It will warn you if any program is going to disappear before you commit to the restore.
Having the same problem... occured after doing an anti-virus scan with Avira
Hi there
could be your Video driver - either the "Virtual one" or your HOST video driver -- not sure about parallels but in VMWARE I'd sometimes lose the whole taskbar if I had it situated at the bottom of the screen - including the start menu and Windows Icon at bottom left of screen so couldn't power down etc without ctrl-alt-delete.. Temporary work around - move taskbar to TOP of screen !!!
Latest update from VMware (WKS 12.1) plus re-install of VMware tools fixed that problem --maybe similar trick for parallels would work too. W10 X-64 Pro VM.
Note - also ensure your W10 VM is up to date as well.
Cheers
