    Hi there

Wonder if anybody noticed that there was NO MENU on Windows 3.11 -- so maybe Windows WILL be going back to its roots. !!! Nobody complained back then about any Start Menu (Lack of).

    Cheers

There weren't enough programs to require a Start Menu.

"We didn't need no stinking menu," we had program groups located in a box like structure. . .

I've got multiple different operating systems on VMs:
    • W8.1 Enterprise (64 bit) (probably dead now)
    • Multiple W7 (64 bit) VMs with software for my TAFE courses (e.g. XAMP, VS Pro, Chrome, Opera, etc.)
    • W7 (32 bit)
    • XP (32 bit) with old games
    • Ubuntu 10
    • Linux Mint 15, 16, 17
    • Fedora 14,15
    • CentOS 6
    • Deepin
    • Peppermint
    • OpenSUSE 12

I have blank W7 and XP VMs, which I use to create new VMs as required.

    Hi Guys,

Well I would be running Ubuntu along with Windows 8 if I could get it to work.

I spent a day last week trying to set up a Virtual Machine to do it, but for some reason I couldn't get it to work.

When I searched I found a lot of other people having similar issues with VM.

What software do people recommend to set up a virtual machine on a computer.

I'm going to try again next week, after our company leaves.
I'm thinking about VMware Player for the next try.

I've never done this before, so it's all new to me.

    Mike

I use VMware Workstation on W7 and VMware Player on Linux Mint 17.
