I had the same problem after upgrading from Windows7. I managed to solve the problem by adding a new user account manually with cmd.

    Run cmd as administrator and
    use the following commands:

    net user /add useraccountname mypassword

    net localgroup administrators useraccountname /add

    net share concfg*C:\\/grant:useraccountname,full

    net user useraccountname

Now there's a new user account created with the name: "useraccountname" and password: "mypassword".
For me it was possible to switch to the new account and in the new account I was able to sign in to my Microsoft account.

Thank you so much! It worked for me :). The disadvantage is that all my favorite settings changed to normal. Is it possible to copy the settings from my local acc to the microsoft acc?

I can't even access the cmd prompt without entering the account password, which of course it says is incorrect, even though it works to login to my live account online. In fact, if I look a recent activity online, it shows successful login attempts from my window PC that I am locked out of. Support has been NO help. WHAT A JOKE!

I tried this and created a new account but still the same problem occurs. Nothing happens when I click sign in.

    PROBLEM SOLVED!!!!!!!
I finally have logged into my microsoft account. Hope this method works for everybody else too.
First I updated my computer with the latest windows update and the computer restarted but nothing seemed solved.
    Then
I again went to my Settings and went to Update and Security.
Then I clicked on Advanced Options and Clicked on the option under Get Insider Builds.
This asked me for my microsoft account and password and actually worked.
And it also solved the same problem happening with Windows Store.
Hope it works for everyone else. Windows 10 looks and works amazing now and I finally got to use cortana.

I was hoping this would work, but I get a window that says: "Your trial period for this app has expired."

Still having the same issue with all the other methods of logging in. Have not tried creating a new account yet and don't particularly want to.

*EDIT: So I bit the bullet and created the new user using the method described earlier in the post and the login screen does appear. I still would like my original local account to link though.

*EDIT 2: So after linking the new account and switching back to my original account, the window appears! I deleted the new account and was still able to link my original local account to my Microsoft account.

How did you manage to update if you were stuck at the login screen?

[QUOTE=Terran;310290]Cant do this because you cant login MS acc.

I hv the same problem as all of you here. How can this possible? How this can be solved?[/QUOTE
I think this would help u as it has also solved my problem -

    1. Go to the Search bar and type "msconfig" and click on the System Configuration icon.
    2. Under the Services tab, check the "Hide all Microsoft Services" checkbox.
    3. Then click on the "Disable All" option under the same tab.
    4. You will receive a prompt asking to restart your computer.
    5. Restart and then try to sign in.

This should help you give a way out of this problem.
