Ahh - So THAT is why I am seeing what I am seeing. Yes Yes I know you are not supposed to use the Administrator account for every day use - its an old bad habit of mine. In Win-XP and Win-7, MS did not "discourage" doing that as much as they do in Win10. I had to activate the hidden Admin account and then make the necessary changes to allow the Admin account to be fully functional. Edge, Store, Weather, News, Mail all work fine though I don't use any of them anyway (well occasionally Store).
I, like many others, enjoy operating in the full Administrator account, unfettered by UAC prompts and being at an elevated level all the time. If there is one thing I can't stand, its my own Operating System fighting me at every turn. I really don't miss having to say YES I DO want to delete whatever - that is why I hit the DELETE key!!
Anyway, that explains it so thank you very much Kari for pointing it out to me. Maybe I will go back and set BillB to Admin and give it a go. I just spend a lot of time in the Registry, in Component Services and PowerShell, either tweaking performance settings or running down errors in the Event Viewer. It's surprising how many errors get logged and how many of them are caused by Permissions problems or DCOM settings in the OS. Most people never even look in the Event Viewer. I am not one of those people who fixates on every error and warning, but I have tracked down and resolved quite a few of them that are Win10 OS problems.
Anyway, thank you again - it makes perfect sense so I will mark this thread as SOLVED!!
