I get to the welcome screen but no luck entering my password ....
OK - some progress - I can log in to windows with the admin profile . Went into control userpasswords2 and it says I can;t change the password for my username ? ideas . Please
looks like windows is not using my profile . Anyway to point windows 10 pro back to my correct profile ?
I do see my profile on the drive . With Win 7 , I knew what to do .... lol ....
Do you have a backup you can use? If you have it turned on a System Restore might work. If that doesn't work maybe you could copy your data from your old user account and make a new user account and install the data from your old user account.
No, not that weird really. It's all to easy to accidentally switch from a local account to a Microsoft account without intending to. Microsoft would prefer you to use a Microsoft account, so make it (too) easy to switch you to one if you ever use it from within your local account. It's easy enough to change back...
