Incorrect User Name

I am the sole user of my PC and so I set it up to by-pass the password entry screen and boot straight into the start screen.

Two weeks ago I started to receive an error message on start up. The message tells me that the username or password is incorrect, try again.

When I type in the password it goes to the start screen without a problem.

I changed the password, same result.

I decided to wait until the upgrade to the Anniversary Edition arrived , but it has not made any difference.

Help please ?

The password that you enter in netplwiz while setting up Windows to automatically sign in to your account at startup doesn't get updated if you make changes to your password. This would be why you are getting this message.

To fix this, you'll just need to set up netplwiz again using the correct password.
