Disabled Administrator account still appears in network

Some time ago I enabled the hidden Administrator account in an effort to resolve some Windows Search issues. Naturally, when I opened the account, Windows created all the usual folders. Even though I have since disabled the Administrator account, those folders are still included in searches, and the disable account still shows up as a Media Device in the network. How can I truly hide everything related to the Administrator account?

    Hello VelcroFace, :)

Since you have disabled the built-in Administrator, you can safely delete its "C:\Users\Administrator" profile folder if you like. If you should ever enable the account again in the future, this folder will be created new again.

    Thanks, Brink.

I was able to delete the "Administrator" folder. However, the disabled account still appears in the "Indexing Options" dialogue when you select "Modify" and "Show all locations." There are two entries: one for "Internet Explorer History," and one for "Offline Files."

That's ok. Uncheck the locations belonging to the account, and click/tap on OK to remove it from being included in the Index. You might also rebuild the Index afterwards to update it.

Wish I could remove those non-existent locations completely from the Indexing list. As I recall, that feature was available in Windows 7.
