Help With Account On Computer

    Help With Account On Computer


    Well I got this computer from a someone from craigslist and it has an admin account on it but it is locked and there is only an account with an USER on it and I got alot of personal files on so i don't want to re download windows plus don't have a code or anything for it but uhm if there is anything I could do please help me.

    I don't have the admin password and I am just standard user.

    Correct. The built-in Administrator account does not have a password, by default. You enable the built-in Administrator account, log in to it, and change your account type to administrator - or reset the existing administrator user's account password.

    I cant change the current admin password I don't even know it/

    Did you even try Option 4 to the tutorial I linked to?

    Dont Have a usb or a disc that big.

    Sorry, can't help you with that. I just tried it with a USB flash drive with Kyhi's recovery drive on it and worked like a charm. Restarting the computer after changing the registry key and I got a nice Administrator account on my login screen that did not require a password. Then in the standard User control panel from Settings you can change your account to an administrator account. Or you can run netplwiz and under advanced options reset other user account passwords, even administrators.
