    Account? Removal question

    HI!
I'm new to the forums. And hopefully I'm on the right thread. I apologize if I'm not.

My grandmother just bought a new laptop and I'm working on setting it up for her. In doing so I didn't have access to her password at first for her email so I used one of my own to do the verifications that were required to start up. Now I can't remove my email address from the (Start>settings>account>outlook) area. Can anyone help?

I've clicked on the account name and "Manage" under it and it just takes me to the Microsoft website profile area. I've already removed my email from there and set up her own.

Is the second account you set up set as administrator? It might be trying to keep you from deleting the only user administrator account on the computer.

Hello Bobbert Welcome to the Ten Forums!

You may have only seen an "Email Alias" created which could be removed easily. Microsoft Account Aliases - Add or Remove - Windows 10 Forums

Option Two would be what you are looking for if that is the case. That will instruct on how to see your own email address removed from the original MS account if one had been created. The other guide I can you to is how to add and remove any new user account. User Account - Add in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

Now a few things have seen some changes in the last year since that guide was originally posted while 10 was still in the Technical Preview stages. You will first need to be logged into the original account making sure that has administrative access as an admin account however before going ahead and removing the one you saw added or end up like one VM did here a day ago when trying to remove a duplicate sign in by password on an older VM that had seen several Insider builds upgrade over each other! Once the one account found was gone the VM was then DOA!

In addition I also have to include this other guide that is for removing user accounts. User Account - Delete in Windows 10 - Windows 10 Forums

    Thanks!
I managed to find an answer. Because it was the address used to 'verify' (i didn't have access to her email at the time) according to microsoft it was not removable. So I did a factory restart and everything is good now.
Thanks so much for replying. I'm going to look over those links just to learn what I don't already know.

Glad to hear you got that worked out. I'm still trying to get a brand new 10 VM to auto start right into the main account without using the Local account option in order to be auto logged in without the need to keep typing in a password or pin key if not image file. The main and second remote pc are set to go while the VMs are touch and go in that area.

One of the VMs however saw multiple admin accounts having been upgraded over several times and could only see the one account removed which voided that VM. So getting to know a few of the guides here can bail you at times!
