My account settings removed. My data in user folders moved toC:\Users\

    Hello,

I started my desktop computer and the desktop was blank. All my files from the desktop and from my user folder have been moved to C:\Users\DH (DH is the name of my account). All the settings in my account are deleted. For example I can't access to my Outlook and so on.

It seems that the computer somehow destroyed my account (account settings) and moved my data from user folders (Documents, Downloads etc.) to C:\Users\DH.

Is there any way how to get back to my normal account? Right now I am in my account, but the account just simply is not there.

Hi poaaad and welcome to TenForums.

Can you use a system restore point to get things back?
If not, can you create a new user account and move your data to it?

Hi, my father talked to a computer guy via phone. The guy said it can be easily repaired. He didn't mention how though. I think on Monday he will come repair it. If I will get to know how he does it, I'll write it here on the forum. Now you can consider this solved. Thank you for help : )

OK, the computer's ready now. We don't know the details, but the problem was that every time we turn on the computer, a completely new profile was created, every time a completely new Desktop was created and so on. By the way, we had Windows 7 upgraded to Windows 10. Now the cumputer repairer reinstalled the Windows 10. So the computer is reinstalled, that's how it ended up :)

It was a strange problem indeed. It might have happened after some actualization of Windows 10. Anyway, I think these general kinds of problems are inherent to Windows 10. I have another computer, a laptop with Windows 10, and sometimes all the icons on the desktop are rearranged. This is Windows 10. I think we all should have stayed with Windows 7, until the Windows 10 bugs are cleaned. Windows 10 is a new system and not problem free yet.

Glad you've got things sorted now. Strange how a new user was created every time the computer was turned on! I've never seen that one before.
