it's not much of an issue just a personal preference, however how would I go about to changing my user folder name?

    Thanks.

You won't be able to change the folder named Users. It is a system folder, like Windows, Programs, etc.

If you are speaking about changing the name of the folder Just beneath Users, i.e. <your user name>, this can be done by creating a new user account with the name you want and when you have it configured the way you desire, delete the old user account.

But what about the actual user's folder under there. In my case, is there some way I can rename C:\users\psklen to C:\users\pat ?

    Thank you,

I was editing when you replied.

Creating a new account is the only practical way. Renaming the profile folder under Users is highly problematic and that is why renaming the account will not change the profile name.

+1; long ago tried the ReNaming thing, surface-wise it took, however the account still was the original name. Saw once where somebody successfully did it, however, the many many steps it took were extremely geeky! Follow pbcopter and LMiller7 advice, and you won't go wrong.
