    Windows 10 sometimes hangs logging in


    Hello,

    I have a recurring problem. Sometimes when I'm trying to log in to my PC with my (Microsoft account) password entered correctly, the password box disappears, and the wheel starts spinning, and it spins, and spins and spins some more for like five or ten minutes. It doesn't give me any errors, I can not cancel the process, I just have to wait till the lock screen comes back. When I slide the lock screen up, the password box is there, I reenter the password and it logs in no problem. But somehow I feel it should not take 10 minutes to log in.

    Do you have any tips how to deal with this?

    Hi, welcome to tenforums.

    Unless someone can suggest an immediate magic fix from experience, I suggest a process of elimination.

    Has this always happened when running Win 10 or did it start some time after you installed Win 10?

    Does the same thing happen when you log in to Safe Mode?

    Then, what happens if you do a clean boot?
