    new account

    Hi

My sister didnt like her surface tablet and gave it to me. I have not used windows 10 to create new accounts so I am not sure what to do.

Can I delete her account from the tablet and add my own. She has a microsoft account associated with the tablet currently. I saw the family account adding but I dont want to do that. Not sure if the other account would present a good option. Thanks.

First, add another account under settings -> accounts -> Family and other users ->Other users:

"Add someone else to this PC"

On the next screen after that, click the option near the bottom:
"I don't have this person's sign in information"

On the next screen after that, click the option near the bottom:
"Add a user without a Microsoft account"

On the next screen enter your desired user name and password if desired. Click Next.

You will be returned to the Family and Other Users screen.

The last step is extremely important - do not mess this step up:
Click on the account you just created and then change account type.
    Select Administrator and click OK.

Make sure the account shows up as an administrator account!

Now you can log in with your new account - convert it to a Microsoft account if you want, delete your sister's account, if you want.

I wish I had sister with a Surface tablet that she didn't want!
