    2 user accounts - Office 2016 admin profile / Office 365 2nd?

    Hi

I have 2 user accounts in my Win10 (Ver 21H1) setup. The 2nd account was created after the main was already in use.

Main administrator account (personal): Contains main user libraries (photos, music, documents), software and applications. It also has Office 2016 installed, used for personal email.

2nd account (business): My wife needs Office 365 installed provided by her employer – she doesn’t need access to any of the software, main user libraries or applications.

    My questions are:

    1. How do I keep main applications separate from the 2nd user profile. The Office 2016 apps are also visible in her account. Happy to have some work across both (e.g. Adobe reader)
    2. Is it possible run Office 2016 only in the main profile, and have my wife’s Office 365 loaded into the 2nd profile? Can both run on 1 system in different profiles?

I don’t mind doing a full Win10 reinstall and creating both user profiles at the outset if that will resolve my issue.

    Thanks

If her account is Standard vs Admin account, she should not be able to access your libraries. As Admin, you can change this in Settings/Accounts.
As for cross programs, you need to review the software installed, as some programs ask you, when you installed them, if you want the program accessible to All users or just the administrator. If they show on her account and you don't want them to, you may need to see if there is an option in the program's settings or uninstall and see if this option is available on install. Sure others will add solutions, Good Luck

You probably can't (or can only with difficulty) completely prevent profile2 accessing Office 2016 - but it should be sufficient to remove any shortcuts to it, leaving only ones to 365. Shortcuts for all users (as created by many install programs) are stored in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs, whereas one for a given profile are in C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs. Just remove the ones you don't want profile2 to see from the PD location, adding them to profile1's appdata so it can still access them.

I should have added that you can do a similar thing with the desktop - C:\Users\Public\Desktop for things you want all to see, or <user>Desktop for private stuff.
