    SFC does not find anything related and neither does it re--set account pics as I think I read in one of Shawn's tutorials.
    My current is a clean install on a formatted SSD.
    As a 30+ year graphics guy, I see no 32 bit image with 8 bits of transparency showing any transparency. Anything within the range 0% to 100% transparency is opaque black (no anti-aliasing). .png, .bmp, .gif, and .tif all create the same results.

    and...BTW, I would LOVE to try a .tga or .ico image, but windows won't allow them.

    Success. I can't begin to Thank everyone for your suggestions. By re-reading and tenacious effort, (that's for you; win10tweaker) I no longer have an account image at logon. After all attempts, in the end, probably after multiple "near miss"(s), here's what worked through GPEDIT.MSC;
    User account image at log-on-screenshot-2021-03-21-113217.pngBe aware that the image you choose MUST be a truly transparent .png. I have been a "graphics guy" for over 30 years and know a few things about this. I tried many www transparent images only to get either a white or black result. I had to re-create my own "0 bit" image in Photoshop.Here it is: (Don't be fooled if it appears black here)

    LOL, you're most welcome.

    I feel more as though I promoted and encouraged your own tenacity though.

    It was just another great learning experience.
