Computer Logs Out After One Minute Requires Password To Log Back In

    Windows 10 Home, version 1909

Not computer savvy.. Filled in what I could find under my profile system specs..

Computer keeps taking me back to log in window after one minute of not being active..

    So far I have:

Clicked on Screen timeout settings and set the time limit or select Never from the drop down bar under Screen option.

I Also typed in and ran "netplwiz" and under user accounts unticked the box that says "Users must enter a name and password to use this computer"

No idea what else to do.. Any help greatly appreciated..

I think you'll find it is not signing you out, rather it is the Lock Screen that's appearing after a period of inactivity. By default the lock screen requires you to enter the password to unlock it. This can be set to 'Never'. NB: this option is only visible in settings if the account has a password, so if yours is a blank password temporarily set one.

Yes, as I said in my original post I have it set to never.

    Let me start over...

This first pic is what I see when the computer automatically ( shuts down ?? ) goes back to the first screen after one minute. The second pic is what I see after I hit the "enter" button, and asks for my Microsoft password. I am trying to make all this stop and go away.

Then this window pops up after I hit the "enter" key and asks for my microsoft password.

You can resolve this issue by doing the following: Press the Windows Key + I , when the setting windows pops up, type the following in the search field: Screen Saver and click on the result to turn on or off the screen saver. From there it is pretty self explanatory.

Change Screen Saver Settings in Windows 10

I hate log in passwords on Win 10, so don't EVER use them.

Good news. Never thought of that. I don't think I've used a screensaver since the XP days.

nor me. The most recent incident of MS asking for a password was actually on my tablet.
I think it was after the last upgrade. Nothing would get rid of it until I did a reboot, and it was gone. Screensavers were in use on the old massive monitors, not required on modern plasma flat screen jobs.

Yep, that's probably the last time with a CRT.
