Need to add the Other User option at login screen

I am using two LOCAL Windows 10 accounts on a STANDALONE laptop. One for Admin and one for Limited account.

I know the image below are for a domain joined machine, but how can I achieve to show my Limited username account and one showing as Other User on the below left-hand corner of the sign in screen?

I do have the Fast User Switching enabled or Not Configured in Group Policy.

    Hello mate,

You could use the tutorial below to disable displaying user names on the Sign in screen to have "Other Users" show instead where you must enter both a user name and password to sign in.

If on a standalone machine, I will not be able to achieve the same exact setting on the login screen that is showing from the image I posted?

Yes, you can use step 3 in option 2 to have "Other User" on a standalone computer like the screenshot below.

If you were joined to a domain, then it would just automatically have "Other User" instead of having to do the above on a standalone home computer.

Since I have Windows 10 Pro, I used Option One for the Group Policy instead of the registry option.

It works. But how come when I shutdown my machine and then powering it up again, I can still see my username on the login screen? Even after restarting. The Other User appears only when signing out or switching accounts.

But I had to disable the Fast User Switching option since when I select it to sign in to other accounts, I can see the other accounts as still signed in and that’s taking up my system resources and perhaps it’s even a security issue.

Which leads me to my next question.

If I use the Fast User Switch without first signing out from my other account, is it a security issue?

I am the only one user using the machine.

Using option 1 below to enable the Interactive logon: Don't display username at sign-in security policy should do the trick.

Enable or Disable Don't Display Username at Sign-in in Windows 10

Is Fast User Switching a security issue?
Decided to leave that option Disabled.

I only would use my Admin account only if absolutely needed.

No. You would still need to sign in to accounts you are switching between.

Any account you switched from would basically be in a standby mode until you sign back in. It's not going to hurt anything other than use more system resources instead of signing out of the accounts.

Yes, correct. It would use more system resources and that is why I am more afraid of.

I can leave Fast User Switch enabled, but I can always use the Sign-Out option to make sure the account is completely signed off before switching to my other account.
