    This worked for me

I updated my PC last night and when it was over, I shut it down. This morning, when I woke up and started it, I tried entering my PIN and it told me that it was incorrect. I tried entering my MS password, which I know it's correct, and it told me the same thing. Now I can't log in on my computer. What can I do? O.o
I popped my battery out and unplugged my laptop and popped the battery back in and it took my password.

I HAVE A FIX FOR EVERYONE that is having a problem entering in their pass word after running the latest update. I contacted Microsoft support via chat and received the following instructions: Go to your lock screen. On the bottom, right side you should have 3 icons. Click on the middle one (ease of access). Now find and click on the "on screen keyboard". A keyboard will come up on your screen. Enter your pass word by clicking your mouse on each letter or number, click enter and your in! I hope this works for you as well as it did for me!

This worker for me: go to lock screen. Click on ease of access icon at the bottom right corner. It should be your middle icon. Now click on the "on screen keyboard to enable. Once enabled use your mouse to click in your pass word, click enter, and your in! Info came from Microsoft online support, via chat. Hope it works for you as well as it did for me!

@Mzdi, it's great! After opening the on-screen keyboard, it's easy to determine if the keyboard layout language on the login screen is what you expected or not.

Had the same problem, turns out my computer was automatically turning on the Num Lock on my keyboard on the login screen (and not letting me turn it off) and so none of my passwords were actually typing in correctly. Noticed that when I clicked on the little eye icon after typing my password in.

So if this is the case for you either reset your password to something which doesn't use any of the letters affected by the Num Lock or do what user Mzdi said :)

So happy I was able to login... I switched from Microsoft Live to Local user and disabled the password requirement for logging into my PC now.

If all else fails and you want to recover your data, boot from a LINUX live CD,DO NOT install, just run as a live CD, might be called a trial.....then copy all data off PC / laptop.....at least all the data can be recovered...

Hi there! So, I have just recently purchased a brand-new HP Notebook with Windows 10 already configured to be the primary Windows. I bought it for my mother who still has a Toshiba from years and years ago. So, I just gave it to her about 3 hours ago or so and we are ALREADY having issues. It wouldn't let her sign in. I have tried every method that was suggested on this thread and not even going to contact M/S tech support because of the such bad reviews on their tech. And, one user on here had said that their was no answer to resolve the issue. My mother has just now been able to log in but now it seems that someone is remotely tapping the screen and opening things. It's a touch screen HP, by the way. And, we seriously just opened it up like 3 hours ago. And, I know she hasn't even gone to any fraudulent website. So, I'm really just appalled by the issues we are already having. We are doing a factor reset and I will be returning this laptop! I am SO disappointed. She was so excited to have gotten a new laptop but it's of no use with these issues we are having. Appalled.
