I updated my PC last night and when it was over, I shut it down. This morning, when I woke up and started it, I tried entering my PIN and it told me that it was incorrect. I tried entering my MS password, which I know it's correct, and it told me the same thing. Now I can't log in on my computer. What can I do? O.o

Just had the same issue. Windows 10 downloaded fine but wouldn't allow you to login to your computer. Spoke with microsoft and the issue was Norton Anti-virus. Apparently they haven't upgraded their system to work with windows 10 yet. We removed Norton (windows 10 has built in security - fyi) and then re-booted and the login then worked. Hope this is helpful!

I use avast! Antivirus. And how would I be able to remove it at any rate, if I can't get past the login screen?

good point. I guess my info is only helpful if you have additional computers that you have not downloaded windows 10 onto .... we had microsoft on the phone and they took over the computer and were able to remove it from their side (as we could not for the reason you point out) so I don't know how to advise how they worked their magic. Sorry. Once they removed, everything worked like a charm so if you can get them on the phone, that's your best bet.

I'm having the exact same problem! I know all the passwords its requesting are correct; I even used the pin number it made me set up and I'm getting nothing. It's beyond frustrating.

I called Microsoft the day before yesterday and they put me on hold for TWO AND A HALF HOURS before saying that a level two technician would call me back between ten and noon on Monday. Then they had the nerve to call today, Sunday, when I was nowhere near my phone, and leave a message saying that because I couldn't be reached they'll try again on TUESDAY. needless to say, I'm appalled by this whole ridiculous situation. I'd like to know if anyone else manages to get it solved.
I have now spoken to 4 answer techs and have been referred to the grade 2 techs three times with the promise they will ring me,,,,,,, nothing, no call. Last answer tech said there have been a number of calls with our problem and that is why it is taking them time deal with us. She asked me to reply to the e mail sent to me,,,,,, what e mail !!! Oh sorry, it was sent wrong address. Still waiting for phone call,,,,,,, don't hold your breath

Mine does the same thing. I type password, then next and I get the spinning curser and it reboots. Rinse repeat. When rebooting, It won't recognize F2, F8 or F12 to get into any boot options what so ever. Man, deciding if I should upgrade or not, in hindsite I should've called tails.

Another phone call not received ! Have phoned again and actually had "chat" with tech I had before and yes, another profuse apology, "I will reschedule you to get this dealt with" so I am now definitely going to receive a call tomorrow evening between 8pm and midnight from a grade 2 tech who will sort out my problem. There you are, oh ye of little faith, M/S do care, my problem will be solved tomorrow,,,,,, it's true I tell you, the man said so !!!!!!!!!!

"delete key" tap till boot menu opens . do this at start up. this issue should not happen unless your pass or user name changed or you no-longer have a ms account or local login account. stop calling ms, they don't have your answer.

Hi, I have tried what you have written but I am afraid it made no difference.
My password and user name were not changed and I was logging in right up to the moment that I downloaded windows 10. From that moment I have been unable to log on to my account so am unable to use my laptop. I can log on to my account on my iPad but not the laptop, which it seems is a problem that others have also got.

Same problem here. Spoken to 4 different techs so far. Am waiting for yet another phone call tomorrow morning at 8am. (Or 2 or 3 hours after). Can't log in. Can't use safe mode without login either. I'll post if there is a solution. I have a HP Pavilion which has a recovery option, but it wipes your HD in the process. I'm at the stage I may be forced to purchase an external hard drive to back up my computer and start from scratch. I hope they can fix it.

Yep, I know the feeling, it's 10.30pm now and I have another hour and a half to wait until midnight which is the end of the four hours timeline given for the latest promised phone call.
