Hello Shawn I have downloaded the 64bit ISO and it took forever to do that and the total download size was 2.06GB it doesn't sound a lot to me so have I actually got the 10 ISO??

Hopefully I have remembered how to attach and if it is there I have marked the download I did and have burnt to a DVD.

I have 7 installed on the machine on which I am going to try 10 again but am having no luck in getting updates - I have installed the readiness tool but it just seems to search forever.

What would you advise me to do a) just boot from the ISO if it is the correct one or b) wipe the drive and then boot the ISO. This machine is one of two that I tried the upgrade on once before if that makes any difference??

Don't know what version or where you got your Windows ISO from, but mine from Tech Bench is 4.11GB

Mike I used the clean install tutorial and hit the download which took me to the Microsoft site and I clicked on the 64bit version. Do you think I should try again?

    Hello John, :)

That does seem a small size for a 64-bit ISO. Are you sure it was successfully fully downloaded?

I prefer a clean install of Windows 10, but you could also upgrade from Windows 7 to 10 using the ISO if you like.

Yes well the first attempt was from that testbench site Mike spoke of and it stalled. I then tried it again and it just showed up as the download completed. I am trying again from your tutorial using the test bench one and I am assuming it is my broadband that is slow because after 20 minutes the download is still at 0.0 / 4.1GB is it this lsow normally as other ISO I have downlaoded take a fair time but four hours for the last one and apparently only half of it it will take all night.

If you only saw 2gb that would mean the download was interrupted perhaps connection being lost temporarily. Even the 32bit is over 3gb in size. These ISOs are dual edition ISO formats either in the 32bit or 64bit option when using the MC tool and now seeing only the dual not 4 in 1 ISOs from the Tech Bench site there.

The MC tool will see the updated form of 10586 Threshold 2 update with the option to save as the "Windows.iso" file. I would give that another try.

Yes well have tried four time now and the last got to 3.26 of 4.1GB anf then stopped. The problem I think lies with the net speed we have at home - this particular download just creeps along at approx 150Kbs and the previous downloads I have done have taken way longer than anything else as you might imagine so I am guessing that the downloads are being interrupted by something as our broadband service is quite prone to dropping out at times because even though we live in a reasonably large town the broadband here is medieval to say the least. Having said that normal browsing and downloading programs is really done at a acceptable speed so why the iSO??

I have come to work now and left both machines downloading hopefully one will get the download done by the time I get home.

The upgrade request I tried for four goes but it doesn't seem to want to do the upgrade mind you the updates are still pouring in.

Too bad you didn't have a friend with a faster connection and a large enough flash drive to have someone else local see the 10 media made up for you or at least download and save the 10 ISO to the flash drive. I suspected it was a connection problem you will otherwise be stuck trying to work with. Went through enough of that years back when still on dsl here!

Yes you are right mate I do have a better connection speed at my own place (ADSL2+) but as I live with my new partner am stuck with this crap ADSL1 plus I am suspecting a crap wireless modem. If the thing has gone down yet again when I get back tonight I will try again overnight because it seems the later I try it the more I get through.

I do have a mobile broadband modem and if pushed may even try that even though it takes such a chunk out of my data allowance.

I would advised staying with the hard line at your own place and allow it to see a full download there when the traffic usually later at night is much lighter as far as the ISP goes. Wish I could teleport you here since on most occasions the MC tool has seen a download completed in about 10 minutes time. If I was still on the old set up however I would be in a similar tight spot you are running into.
