You can show your script that uses the first login?
This would help me a lot.
Thanks to you and the Brink for the answers.

It's literally what is in this tutorial.

Just make a script to import your XML file associations on first login.

In my unattend file, I have it set to automatically login to the Administrator account 1 time on deployment And I have the script run automatically on first login. The script deletes itself at the end so it doesn't run on the next login.

OK, I'll do that and see if it works.
    Thanks for the help

How do you restore the defaults for an existing user? I recently updated the OS to 10586.164 and several of my defaults where reset and when I attempted to open an application (text file for example) I was prompted to identify the default application.

    Hello jgt1942, :)

If you like, you can use OPTION ONE in the tutorial below to restore all defaults.

Unless you created a backup first, you'll have to manually select which apps you want to open the files with by default.

Problem when new user logs in

    Hi Brink,

Thanks for this information. It seems very useful!
But I still have a problem that I don't manage to solve:
I run Windows 10 on a local computer that is used by several users (with local standard profiles). When a new user has been created, and this person logs in for the first time, I would like the default app associations that are set in my local administrator account to be loaded for this new user as well.
I followed your advice, running options 1 and 2 while I was logged in as admin, but when a new user logs in afterwards (for the first time), this user gets several messages saying: "An app default was reset - An app caused a problem with the default app setting for .pdf files, so it was reset to Microsoft Edge" (this happens not only for pdf files, but for all the extensions that have been associated in the .xml file). And all the app associations are set to the Windows 10 standard.

Any idea on what I might be doing wrong?

    Regards,
    Dirk
