Thanks Brink - that did the trick and all of the apps are back. Unfortunately, I still have build 1511 with all of the quirks that started this in the first place. Things like flash crashing in Chrome, Edge being pretty much worthless after browsing for more than 15 minutes (I just had to switch back to Chrome to enter this reply because the forum's form wouldn't work in Edge), the Settings App unresponsive when selecting certain items, etc. If I restart the computer all is well at first but things deteriorate rapidly. It worked fine before the November 1511 update. Maybe Win 10 v1511 just doesn't like my Lenovo Yoga 11s.

    R2Mog,

Do you have the latest drivers installed from Lenovo below for your Yoga 11S?

Thanks again Brink! Apparently my Lenovo automatic updates isn't working properly, so even though it looked like I was getting updated drivers I must not have been getting all of them. I went ahead and installed any driver that Lenovo says is Win 10 compatible and the system is running much smoother now. Must have been one of the old drivers for Win 8 that was messing things up when combined with the November Win 10 update. I guess time will tell, and I'm keeping my fingers crossed...

    Hello,
I recently upgraded to Win10 (from Win 7), after a few days and the latest updates I ran into the issue of the store not opening (and related apps), icons on taskbar went blank as well. I tried the solution of this thread but this is what I got as an answer....any tips/next step ?

Hello melusine, and welcome to Ten Forums.

I'm afraid that will usually need a repair install to fix without losing anything.

Does that mean we start all over with installations and such, having to reinstall Office, developer studios, and CAD software and about 100 or so other non windows store applications?

Hello bendespain, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

Your installed programs and apps will remain intact when doing a repair install since it's basically just doing an in-place upgrade to the same edition.

Thanks, but what exactly will be changed? That's the problem with these "big stick" fixes... right? I'll end up spending hours addressing everything it changed... right?

Nope. You should be good to go as you were when it's finished.

Of course, I would always recommend to create a system image and back up anything that you don't want to lose to be extra safe.
