    1) Can I use Option Four without otherwise degrade.

    2) Is Noel Carboni's Configure Automatic Updates tool a viable option.
That's ok. You can also set the wired Etherenet connection as metered.

    From option 4:

Yes, I read Ethernet Connection info. Just assumed other programs like Norton would be affected. For example Norton's Network Cost Awareness limits updates to critical. So, setting Ethernet to Metered seems like I'll degrade Norton and other. IDK

OPTION FOUR would affect anything that would be affected by a metered connection. You could set it to metered, then test to see how Norton does. If it is affected, then you could always set it back to non-metered.

I've never used Noel Carboni's Configure Automatic Updates tool, so I can't say about it.

Okay, we'll play and see what's what. With Cumulative Updates there's less to play with. I'm warming to W10. I still check my Settings preference. I'm warming, just not trusting yet. Thanks

It appears that the group policy is no longer working with Redstone RTM? I have the policy set, but no longer get the "managed by your organization" notification in windows update. Brink, any experience with Redstone?

    Hello retiredfields, :)

Are you still getting automatic updates even though not seeing the notification in Windows Update?

Personally, I find OPTION FOUR using a metered Internet connection to be the most effective.

Yes, it appears the updates are installing automatically.

I do use the metered connection setting, but Redstone does not give me the option to download the updates anyway. I needed to turn off the metered connection in order to download.

If you manually click on "Check for updates" after using the policy (option 1 or 2), it'll still automatically download and install the updates. The policy will only prevent Windows 10 from automatically downloading and installing them without you checking first.

I'm setting the policy to disabled on my system to see what happens in build 14393.3 now. :)
