Using install.esd from a USB Media Creation Tool or even from a local disk did not work for me. what did work was downloading an ISO file, mounting it, and then copying the install.win file to a local disk.

In practice, the Windows component store is located in the "System Reserved" partition where there is the Windows "extra heart" constituted by its system files.
So, the Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth command tries to repair the store above so that the sfc /scannow /offbootdir=C:\ /offwindir=D:\windows command can obtain the system files from it.
Right?

Using the /source option of the DISM command with an install.wim or install.esd file in a DVD, I should specify any volume image present in one of these files to repair the components of Windows or I should point the volume image containing the edition of Windows 10 that I should fix?
Thanks
Bye
Try it like this:
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:G:\sources\install.esd
In my case G was a thumb drive
