Does this Dism function ever work? I've tried this dozens of times using the examples shown here and elsewhere and ALWAYS get the 'source' not found. In this case, I'm trying to sort a Windows 10 installation - new and clean - which fails with corrupted files message from the scannow function.
DISM works fine, nothing wrong with it......if user does not enter the command correctly, or is using the wrong iso then DISM will not work....

When I locate install.esd on the disc, and select as shown above, I get exactly the same path as shown in file explorer. I use that without quotation marks in the command. The error message always tells me to use the source command even though I do include it in the command.

Can you post a picture of the command & results? Remember too the ISO has to be mounted.

    1. Copy install.esd to your Desktop
    2. From Admin command, run: Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth
    3. then run: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:ESD:%USERPROFILE%\install.esd:1 /LimitAccess

t didn't work, regrettably - failed with the same message about sources,. The checkhealth command responded by stating that the component store is repairable.

Did you download the Tech Bench ISO and use it? That worked for me.

No, I've been using a new download via the media creation tool. I'll try the techbench .iso now. Thanks.

Yes try the Tech Bench. The media creation tool did not work for me as well. Someone else mentioned in the thread as to why (It's a compressed version of the install files so that it is smaller and therefore faster to download) apparently that is why it does not work.

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:wim:m:\Sources\install.wim:1 /LimitAccess

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:esd:m:\Sources\install.esd:1 /LimitAccess

    Techbench ISO has Install.wim
    MCT ISO has an Install.esd

I also assume you ran this command FIRST...

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

Before deciding to use a Source location ??
