Eureka! After a long web search I have found the answer here: ** REMOVED **

Also here you get first the 3 options: "add a task", change the registry and adding a rule to the "Local Security Policy".
None of them worked for me. But, about halfway down the responses from users there is Len White and he worked on the C:\windows\system32\LogonController.dll file. Some users still had difficulties untill his V.3 was released. That worked!!
He also put a link for downloading the updated file here: ** REMOVED **

Or you could have read the tutorials here which describe this method in detail with clear instructions.

I DID, but this tutorial only describes the first 3 options, works for Windows 10 v.1511 but NOT for the anniversary update v.1609
This Tutorial was published in 2015, well before the anniversary update.

OPTION THREE was added after the anniversary update, and is the exact same as what you posted a link to.

I constantly keep the tutorials updated, so the original date of when the tutorial was posted is meaningless.

Sorry, I did not know. But, all options didn't work, including option 3. You admitted in this tread yourself that it is no longer possible to disable the lock screen after the anniversary update. But I did find the solution, (which is now removed)

You may have misunderstood or didn't read all of what I posted.

OPTION THREE disables the lock screen except at startup. The solution you found is the same.

I did read your post Brink, but I want to disable the lock screen all together, also at startup. (just to be a pain in the ..... :)
Furthermore, the solution that I found is NOT the same, it is a decompiled DLL and I can not find this in your tutorial (but having said that, I am still reading through 14 pages of responses)
But, the main thing is, I have no longer a Lock Screen

    No worries.

The modified LogonController.dll file option you mentioned had been reported to cause issues for some, so I don't want to post something that may cause issues until a better option comes along to disable the lock screen at startup.

Option 3 plus the "Require no Password at Logon" means you only see the Lockscreen Flash by at boot with AU , I was playing with that just yesterday.

So as it stands now, the most we can do is disable it for locking the computer, signing out and resuming from sleep? Just wondering if there's been an update to get rid of it for good, but seems to be nothing so far, correct?
