Any way to change the number of "Most Used" apps? I've been looking around for quite some time, and can't seem to find anything... There also doesn't appear to be an way to do it via registry either (there are no keys to change it that I can find).

Resizing the start menu vertically will reveal more icons. So will removing some of the items from the list at the bottom.

I did that shortly after installing Windows 10, but it leaves an empty space in the middle of the start menu, with only 6 items in the "Most Used" list. Any way to increase this number? (it appears that all of the screenshots I've seen of a larger number than 6 are on older builds).

    Thanks, Brink!

Also wondering, is there some way to allow an item that's been flagged for exclusion to appear in the list again?
I have the same problem and it's really bugging me. There has to be away to reset the Start Menu or at least the Most Used list. If anyone has a solution I'd be really thankful!

I somehow managed to reset the Start menu's Most Used List, so here's what I did:

    1. CCleaner - use Cleaner to clear:
    - Start Menu Shortcuts (System category)
    - Menu Order Cache (Advanced category)
    - User Assist History (Advanced category)
    2. Disabled 'Show most used apps', waited 10 seconds, then re-enabled the option again (Option 2 in the guide)
    3. Signed out and then signed back in again.

Probably some of these steps were not needed, but I only saw the cumulative effects only after I signed out and in again.

Now I have to figure out how to get back my desired most used apps, instead of the default ones..

I'm having this same annoying problem - I can't get the Most used list to have more than six items.

I have 'Most used' enabled, but no items on my list. I've hidden a few (but not all) and would actually like to bring back some that I've hidden.

Looked around the registry but couldn't find anything.

I'm having problems getting either my 'most used' to puplulate anything or 'recently installed' only shows one. Ive gone through the 3 options above but there no change

    Hello Vipermk2,

Recently added will always just show the one last recently added app.

Your screenshot looks like you still have "Most used" removed though. Did you sign out and in or restart the computer after doing the tutorial to fully apply?
