Great news tosalet.
So this is a good hack, but is there a way to replace Window's selection of folders with useful personal folders in the Folders folder?
Hello Winten,
The default folders in This PC are links of your personal user folders.
There is a way to add folders, but it involves a lot of registry editing. Way to many details to post though.
Is your reply just a tease? Obviously you want to keep the secret.
Nar, it would just hours of work to manually add just one folder.
However, there's a free program called This PC Tweaker that'll let you do it quickly. Scroll down at the publisher's link below for details and a download link. :)
This PC Tweaker
I have a slightly odd query.
Since upgrading to Windows 10 I have purchased extra OneDrive storage and have moved my documents, pictures, music and videos all to the following directories:
C:/users/[user]/onedrive/documents
C:/users/[user]/onedrive/pictures
C:/users/[user]/onedrive/music
C:/users/[user]/onedrive/videos
I was going to use symlinks but got a bit messy so this is the best way.
But now I the folders documents, pictures, music and videos folders that I see when I click on explorer/my computer/this PC (whatever you want to call is) are useless so I have removed this using the tutorial at the begining of this thread.
But I want it to show Libraries here instead. All the tutorials I see are just to enable libraries in the Navigation Pane. So my question is:
How can I get Libraries to show under 'This PC' instead of these shortcuts to empty folders?
Hello AgentSplurge, and welcome to Ten Forums.
If you like, you can use the tutorial below to add Libraries to This PC. It's the same in Windows 10. :)
Libraries - Add or Remove from This PC in Windows 8.1
Hey! Thanks for the welcome, I've actually been using the forums for a loooong time now (pre Longhorn probably!) but usually find my answers just through searching :)
Just managed to do that, that's great. Is there any way to add links to each andividual library rather than just a 'Libraries' link?
I've tried in 8.1, but it never did work well for individual libraries. I'll look into again for 10 though, and will make a tutorial for it if it works out well. :)
Cool, thanks! If not it doesn't matter really, the link to libraries is good, and it's all on my OneDrive so quite easy to get to from there.
I think OneDrive has a little way to go in terms of full integration. MS should allow you to select which directories on your PC that you want to sync to the cloud, not just which folders that are already on your OneDrive for your computer to download locally. At the moment you can only select certain folders already on OneDrive not to download to your PC and sync.
