Thank you for the prompt response. The .reg was reapplied and ownership of the keys taken, a few weeks ago and the laptop has been rebooted many times since - I've just moved to a different continent, so it's taken me a little while to submit a post on this and I'm rather out of ideas.

Since this has been after an update, merge the .reg file and restart again to see if that may help. Some of these updates have been bad about resetting it.

I'm without internet access at home currently, hence the delay in responding. I've merged the 64-bit_Remove_Pictures_Folder_in_This_PC.reg file again and restarted, but I've still got a duplicate set of user folders, as in the screenshot I posted previously. I've also downloaded the individual 64-bit remove Desktop, Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures and Videos .reg files, merged them and restarted, but the problem persists.

    Hello Viewtiful,

As a test, turn off "Show all folders" in the navigation pane to see if the duplicates still show.

Thank you for your help, but I thought the best way of resolving the issue would be to reset Windows 10 (keeping my files) and it appears to have done the trick. Thank you again.

Here is an updated file for the new windows updates. They have added some more strings.

Thank you Navuho, but the method you used in that modified .reg would break these folders in the Start List if added. The current method in the tutorial will not break them.

It will break the Documents, Downloads, Music, Pictures, and Videos folders on your Start list. When you try to open them from the Start list, nothing happens instead of them opening.
