hi guys, funny enough I want to go the other way, it feels to me as if windows 10 is tuned for high resolutions not low.

on a 720p display task manager fills up the entire screen LOL, all text on modern UI seems massive compared to windows 7. Yet I am on 100% with no way to set dpi scaling to below 100%

on a 1024p 4:3 monitor is a bit better but still really bad, at 1050p (my main monitor is still bad also), it feels like a 1440p monitor is needed for win10 to feel right.

    Hello Chrysalis, :)

Do you have the recommended highest screen resolution set? A lower resolution will cause items to appear larger.

    Must be psychic

I was just going to come on here and ask if its possible to go the other way

Would be really nice to turn the scaling down on the apps, most apps need to be maximised in order to see them properly, Win32 style are fine, but all the WinRT is too big

yes I am running at the native res, the issue is all the winRT (modern) stuff is simply too big, as if microsoft have designed it for 1440p upwards.

traditonal ui elements such as the control panel are fine.

Did anyone who reported issues above re-test in 10586?

I'm just curious, since I'm considering getting a 24" monitor and want to know if I should go higher than 1200p (e.g. 1440p), which will likely necessitate tangling with this half-baked scaling feature.

Problem remains in 10586, Windows 10 DPI Fix still fixes it for me. Their new version allows for up to 300% scaling (check bottom of page).

Far more than most will want to know about scaling in general and in Win10 in particular:

This Fix Works Great! Thank You.

Unfortunately, the DPI problem in Windows 10 is very serious. I have many system windows and non-Microsoft programs that are extremely blurry. Using 125% DPI and the "Let me choose one scaling level for all my displays" setting which helped, is gone.

This is the only solution that currently works for me - it seems that with every new Windows edition, more and more hacks and workarounds are required to make it work sanely.

Interesting info here too, and an alternative fix.

Hi all, is it there the possibility to setup a custom DPI scaling differently from OS and application (game)?

Example 150% for Windows OS, and 149% for only one game application?
