Those sure are some stubborn folders. It may be time to use a new account instead other than a reset or clean install.

Analogy: This PC can be considered a file cabinet, the drives/letters under This PC are the drawers in the cabinet and the folders in the drawers hold the files.

Hiding This PC in File Explorer would probably be disabling the purpose of the file manager.

If the panel holding This PC is an issue you might be able to hide the whole Navigation pane in View on the menu/tool bar.

If you were wanting File Explorer to open to a different location than "This PC" by default, then you could change that using an option in the tutorial below.

The key path in the registry should be there. You may have missed it by mistake. Just to confirm, did you copy and paste the key path below into the address bar of Registry Editor and press Enter?

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\ShellFolder

I do not have HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\ in my Registry. I do have a HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLS\ entry. Are you saying I should add that entire key path into Registry??? Or add it bit by bit until I get the entire key path installed as per the page 1 instructions???

I wouldn't recommend to add the key since CLSID it should have been there by default. Windows would be broken without it. Be sure you scrolled down past all the listed file extensions.

If you were still wanting to remove "This PC" from File Explorer, please go ahead and post a screenshot of your Registry Editor showing this key path to see if anything may stand out.
