...Wooww!!! Out of the blue, Spotlight just started working again today in Windows Pro!!!
After all, it looks that it was a MS problem, which they decided to fix.

    UPDATE:

Previously on PC, there were two separate backgrounds for the Lock screen and then the logon screen. Starting in Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14279, Microsoft is merging the experience so there is just a single background – your Lock screen background. This is similar to the behavior seen on mobile. If you have a custom Lock screen background set, you will see your Lock screen background is now used for both the Lock screen and logon screen. If you’re a Windows Spotlight user – hold tight, you’ll see this change soon in a future build. We’re also working on some additional tweaks here to make the transition between the Lock screen and logging in much smoother.

Already experienced it with my Insider upgrade. To an old themer like me, it is a most welcomed change. Now the OS look from boot to locking & signing out is perfect!

Shawn now I do like space pics and I have downloaded several for use and have done the wallpaper ok but when I use browse and go to Downloads where they downloaded to and choose one it doesn't upload it to be my lock screen. So I tried copying it to Pictures and - same thing the spots go round and round but nothing happens.

Again seems a tad convoluted or is it because I am a bit dumb?

    Hello John, :)

Odd. Are you able to set the image as your lock screen using OPTION TWO instead?

Not sure Shawn and I haven't enjoyed the best of health this last week and have had things to catch up on but I intend getting to it again this week as I am going to keep one of the laptops fully 10 after finding my way around in it a bit more now. .

Note: For option 1 step 5 Slideshow to work the service Windows Search must be running so that Indexing can occur. If this service has been disabled or stopped there will be no Slideshow. Shawn you may want to update your note for option 1 step 5.
