How to Zoom In or Out on Webpage in Microsoft Edge in Windows 10

    information   Information
Microsoft Edge is a new web browser that is available across the Windows 10 device family. It is designed for Windows 10 to be faster, safer, and compatible with the modern Web.

Microsoft Edge Zoom lets you enlarge or reduce the view of a webpage. Unlike changing font size, zoom enlarges or reduces everything on the page, including text and images. You can zoom from 10% to 1000%. The default zoom level is 100%.

Starting with Windows 10 build 15007, you can now zoom into a webpage regardless of zoom settings defined by the website, matching other mobile browsers. Pages are now zoomable to at least 500%. Because of this, text is no longer automatically scaled in Microsoft Edge when you’ve enabled the Ease of Access option to increase the text size, since you can zoom in on the text to reach a size that matches your own comfort level. This addresses feedback that Ease of Access zoom settings made web pages render incorrectly.

This tutorial will show different ways to zoom in or out on a webpage in Microsoft Edge for your account in Windows 10.

    Note   Note
The zoom level for Microsoft Edge is stored in the registry as the ZoomFactor DWORD in the registry location below.
    Code:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\Local Settings\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\AppContainer\Storage\microsoft.microsoftedge_8wekyb3d8bbwe\MicrosoftEdge\Zoom

This tutorial is for the old legacy Microsoft Edge.

See the tutorial below for the new Chromium based Microsoft Edge.

My current MS Edge (Version 87.0.664.75 (Official build) (64-bit)) does not follow this pattern. All methods zoom to the usual 100 110 125 150 etc. Has something changed? I would like to set steps to 5% increments.

    Hello mate,

You would want to use the tutorial below instead for the new Chromium based Microsoft Edge.

Thanks, I looked at that but it seems yo only offer the standard increments. I can't see where that gives me the ability to alter the zoom steps to +/-5%. Am I missing something?

I'm afraid it can only use the zoom percentages below.

    25%, 33%, 50%, 67%, 75%, 80%, 90%, 100%, 110%, 125%, 150%, 175%, 200%, 250%, 300%, 400%, or 500%

As I feared. Thank you. I'll have to use the Zoom extension which I am not very keen on.

You're most welcome. It would be nice to have more incremental percentages available.
