    Hello maranna, :)

What happens when you use one of the options to perform a WD offline scan?
    >>Thank you for replying, Brink.
If I click it once nothing happens. If I click it more than once, red letters say that something is wrong and to try later. DISM health and SFC are ok. I am missing some setting somewhere. The laptop runs fine offline. I have run MBAM, Defender and Trend Micro. All is updated.

It's possible that Trend Micro may be blocking it from running causing the error.

Thank you, Brink but I only used Trend Micro to see if I had malware Defender and MBAM were not picking up. It is not usually in my system.
Perhaps I should take MBAM out as it may be causing it not to run? However, it is in the laptop and that offline scan runs ok. This really is a puzzle.

I will keep this page bookmarked for further use. I imaged back to Feb. and updated again.
Now Defender runs by clicking the button as it should.
Before it just said in red that something is broken and to try later. I am finding the same red warning in the Windows forum where they told me they are having issues. I wonder if they are related.

Defender offline only seems to do a quick scan. Is there anyway to force a offline full scan?
I can do the full offline scan using a usb drive but like to know if it can be done from within the windows menu.
    Thanks.

    Hello syga,

I'm afraid that I haven't seen a way to have WDO run a full scan yet.

Something I found out last night, and checked on my laptop this morning too.

WDO has stopped working, in all three cases(button in settings, PowerShell, and Command Prompt).
I did a search and it seems that maybe it has to do with the system being prepared for the Creators Update. Maybe a link has been changed?

I really needed it last night as I got some serious malware and wanted to try getting rid of it using WDO: Monster Hunter Benchmark

But I ended up just reimaging using Macrium Reflects Boot Menu option(goes a lot faster when one has a PCIe NVMe M.2 SSD), which I would have done anyhow, after testing WDO.

Can someone give it a shot and see if it works on your system, please?

    I'm on 14393.953.

I ended up doing a Macrium recovery a while ago and have not had any WDO trouble since.
