Hello Bass, and welcome to Ten Forums. :)

If you like, you could boot from installation media and do a clean install instead.

I finally got around to doing a re-install using USB which seemed to clear up all the problems with the operating system, however when I reboot/reset it will occasionally fail to boot back up without me telling it specifically to boot from the HDD (not my biggest concern).

Also my windows is no longer activated, it says that my device does not have a valid digital entitlement or product key. When I originally bought this computer a while ago it came pre-loaded with working/activated copy of windows 7. It seems re-installing from media wiped out my product key. I have no idea what my product key would be or was.

The specific code is 0x803F7001 - Please let me know if there is a fix for this.

    Bass,

You could try changing your product key to enter the Windows 7 key to hopefully activate.

If not, then you might see if you may be able to activate by phone.

Want to do complete reset to get ready to resale. Did reseet and now Im going through the quesitons it has on screen, Get to this one, 1. Is it for your organization 2. I own it.

If I want to sell it, what do I pick, afraid if I say I own it it will want my MS account ID to get back to base, but will still be then tied to ME.

Can I delete my MS account after I get all OEM stuff reloaded

    No worries bricko.

You would want to select "I own it". You can then setup a dummy local user account during Windows Setup like at step 24 below as well. :)

Would a reset work to remove crapware on a new Dell? It would be nice to have a standard Windows install, but with the existing Dell drivers intact.

I started a new thread on this before remembering about reset, so apologies.

To answer my own question, presumably it used the recovery partition so reloaded all the crapware. So I just need a way to modify the install script so it loads the drivers, not the other stuff.
