This will bring you back to whatever previous Windows was installed before your current Windows 10.
If you previously had an older version of Windows 10 installed, then that would be what it goes back to.
There should be a warning prominently posted at the top of this and any similar Tute to the effect that unless there is at least twice the space available on the drive than the size of windows.old folder, the recovery wont proceed.
(Someone emailed me this complaining that my favourite websites had let them down).

Hey Brink, I was thinking of using this method, namely going back to a previous version, in order to get rid of my problem with Power Mode (Reset and Restore Power Plans to Default Settings in Windows 10 - Page 2 - | Windows 10 Tutorials).
Basically it seems analogous to a System restore, in that it should revert Registry entries and System files and settings back to their previous state, the state prior to upgrading, and also remove any changes I inadvertently made in the meantime, am I correct? Because I upgraded from 1709 to 1803 just like 3 days ago, and so when I broke my Power Mode -- while attempting to reset default power schemes -- I am pretty sure my laptop was actually running version 1803. Do you think that it may work, I mean going back to the previous version, before those unfortunate attempts?
Also, I have another question for you: after downgrading to 1709, and having hopefully ascertained that the Power Mode problem has resolved, can I upgrade again to 1803? And can I perform the upgrade the normal way, that is through Windows Update, or will I need to go through the Microsoft Website (https://www.microsoft.com/it-it/software-download/windows10)?

Going back to a previous version of Windows should be able to also sort your issue, but you would lose everything in your current version. Doing a repair install will allow you to keep everything and should fix your power mode issue.
Correct, you would be able to update back to 1803 from 1709 again.
By losing everything in my current version, you mean apps and software installed after upgrading to 1803, right? On the other hand, if I understand the procedure correctly, I should be able to keep my personal files, and all apps and programs installed on previous versions, that is prior to 1803, am I correct in this regard?
