How to Roll Back a Device Driver to a Previous Version in Windows 10

    information   Information
A newer version of a device driver often adds functionality and fixes problems that were discovered in earlier versions. If the device fails or has issues after updating the driver, you can roll back to the previously installed driver until there's another new driver version available later to install.

This tutorial will show you how to roll back a device driver to a previous version in Windows 10.

You must be signed in as an administrator to be able to roll back a driver.

    Note   Note
If rolling back the driver doesn't resolve the issues you're having with your device, visit the manufacturer's website to contact and report the issue to them to help make them aware of it.

Afterwards, create a new thread in the Drivers and Hardware forum area here about your device driver issue to see what we can do to help.

    Here's How:

    1. Open Device Manager (devmgmt.msc).

    2. Double click/tap on the device you want to roll back the driver for to open its properties page. (see screenshot below)
    Note   Note
You can also right click or press and hold on the device, and click/tap on Properties.

    3. Click/tap on the Driver tab, and click/tap on the Roll Back Driver button. (see screenshot below)
    Note   Note
The Roll Back Driver button is only available (not grayed out) if a previous version of the driver was installed. If the current driver for the device is the only one that was ever installed on this computer, then the Roll Back Driver button is not enabled (grayed out).

Hi Shawn, since I transferred my system to the new motherboard, I noticed the yellow triangle on three devices.
What looks like a triangle, is missing the "!"->
Same as your screenshot above, IDE ATA, Storage Devices, and Display Adapters(graphics cards).
I never noticed it on any of my other machines before, but as you know, that means nothing, we overlook things all the time, that have been there forever

Any how I did some BingFu and found out, of all places from a member at the Microsoft Community, who, again, found out on our forums it is a symbol for a PCIe device.:)

I was looking to see if there is any documentation or list in the net to show the meanings of the icons for Device Manager, as it might bee helpful.

As a long time MVP, you probably could ask around on Yammer(I believe it is), and maybe find one, and make a short tutorial of it.
As I was looking around, on many other sites, there were others asking, but no one knew the correct answer.

To show what I mean, like Intel RST help has:
