A snip when this is run against build 10586, which is absolutely not a Technical preview as written.
Should I be concerned?
They all still have "Technical Preview" in the name and description, so it's nothing to worry about. :)
Great post @Brink!! Thanks a lot. I used both the Media Creation Tool and downloaded both the x32 and x64 versions .ISO's to my Mac Windows SSD, that was yesterday.
Will mount the image and check. Keep you posted on the outcome.
Cheers

A few days ago I used the media tool to create a Win10 USB. I should have either 10586.164 or 10586.122 depending on when I did the create, e.g. before March 8, 2016. In an Admin CMD window I issued "dism /Get-WimInfo /WimFile:d:\sources\install.esd /index:1' I'm confused by the results I got. I don't see the version numbers I was expecting. Did I do something wrong?
I'm not sure how I downloaded an older version but somehow I did. I just downloaded the ISO file, mounted it and ran the command. I do see that it is versio 10.0.10586 but I don't really know what build it is. Per the MS webpage at Windows 10 update history - Windows Help
the file I downloaded is 10586.164 What am I doing wrong?
I guess the ISO supplies 10586.0 and then Windows update drives you to .164.I haven't tried this, but I think so.
You might use Techbench website to see if they directly provide 10586.164
I just wanted some way to check what I had downloaded and ensure I actually downloaded what I thought I was downloading. The other day I use the MS Media tool to create a USB bootable Win10 jumpdrive. I know the tool downloaded from the MS site but the version of Windows installed on the USB jumpdrive was a very old version and I did not realize it until I used it.
Once windows is installed you can press the Windows key + R and type WinVer (caps are NOT important) and it will display the current version of windows installed on your system.
