How to Open Phone Screen in Your Phone app on Windows 10 PC

You can tap into the power of Your Phone app with Link to Windows integration on select Surface Duo and Samsung devices to instantly access your Android phone’s mobile apps directly from your Windows 10 PC.

With Your Phone apps, you can instantly access the Android apps installed on your mobile device right on your PC. Using a Wi-Fi connection, Apps allows you to browse, play, order, chat, and more – all while using your PC’s larger screen and keyboard. You can add your Android apps as favorites on your PC, pin them to your Start menu and taskbar, and open them in separate windows to use side-by-side with apps on your PC – helping you stay productive.

Apps replaced the Phone screen option in the left pane of the Your Phone app, but Phone screen is still available. Phone screen will mirror your Android phone screen the same way it did before, but it will be on a separate window from the Your Phone app. Apps provides an easier way to interact with all of the apps installed on your Android device by launching them directly.

The Phone screen feature only works when your Android device and Windows 10 PC can communicate with each other. They will both need to be turned on, linked, and connected to the same network (for example, your home Wi-Fi).

The second screenshot shows a screen similar to that displayed on my PC when I open "Phone Link" from Apps. However, the menu of the left pane in the screenshot, shows Notifications, Messages, Photos, Apps, Calls and Contacts, while in my PC I have only Messages, Photos and Calls. That is, "Apps" --the hot item-- is missing from my "Phone Link" and thus I cannot "Open phone screen", which is the subject matter of this topic!

Does this happen to someone else? Are there any ideas about what is missing?

I later found out that it is a question of Android version: It needs 11.0 and higher and mine is 7.0!
(Well, I bought my phone 3 years ago ... This means more than one new major Android version per year ... And this, under a world-wide Covid pandemic and economic problems!!)

I hope this helps someone with the same problem!
