The first link in Step 1.1 is not working: swarfega, you do not have permission to access this page.
Also when I try to run ESDtoISO it claims that the ESD file is not an original Microsoft ESD file. I'm doing this in VMWare btw.
That is because the ESD you are using is not the 4 Index ESD that MS uses and the ESDtoISO program is looking for...when I try to run ESDtoISO it claims that the ESD file is not an original Microsoft ESD file
Chances are the ESD you are using is not encrypted and the program will not work..
Depending on what you trying to do - try this one
The link in 1.1 to another TF tutorial works for me, in all browsers.
About the ESD file, how did you get it?
I installed Windows 7 Pro which went fine, I then did the Windows Media Creation tool upgrade and 10 upgraded ok.
Hello,
I wanted to create a bootable ISO from Windows 10 ESD file that I have after I updated from Win 7 to Win 10 but the links here in the thread were expired and did not know what to get so I downloaded Windows 10 from
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/softw...load/windows10
unzipped and copied all the files in a DVD.
My question is: can I delete now my $Windows.~BT folder ?
Thank you
Hi Mario, welcome to the Ten Forums.
I just checked, all links in tutorial are working, not expired.
The BT folder is no longer needed after the upgrade and can be removed. Next upgrade will recreate it. However as the folder is relatively small, finalized upgrade removing its biggest "space eater" the install.esd file, it does no harm when left on C:, hidden as it by default is.

Thank you Kari,
I meant the links to download the ESD > ISO converter, maybe I clicked on it in a wrong way.
One more question: yesterday my Windows.BT folder was bigger with the install.esd in the souce folder but today the folder is very small with just a few files inside and no more the install.esd
What happened?
EDIT: I downloaded Win 10 from here http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/techbench
and not from the link I linked in the other post. sorry
very good job dude thanks :)
