Turn On or Off Automatically Download External Content in Mail app in Windows 10

Starting in Windows 10 build 10547, you can now turn on or off to automatically download external images and style formats for email in the Mail app.

This tutorial will show you how to turn on or off automatically download external images and style formats in email for accounts in the Mail app for your account in Windows 10.



Here's How:

1 Open the Mail app.

2 Click/tap on the Settings icon at the bottom left, and click/tap on Reading pane in the Settings flyout. (see screenshot below)

3 In the Reading pane flyout under External content, select a specific email account (ex: Outlook) you want to turn on or off automatically download external content for, or check Apply to all accounts if you like. (see screenshot below)

4 Under External content, turn on (default) or off to Automatically download external images and style formats except S/MIME Mail and Automatically download external images and style formats for S/MIME Mail for what you want. (see screenshot below)

5 When finished, you can close the Mail app if you like.
