Enable or Disable F8 Advanced Boot Options in Windows 10  

Thanks Shawn for this useful tutorial :) After following it - and importantly, also enabling Windows 10's "Fast Start-Up" via Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options\System Settings ("Choose what the power buttons do") - I am now able to boot straight into Windows 10 without having to make a menu selection - as long as I'm doing so after a Shut Down, rather than a Restart.

I found that even after following the instructions here, if I have Fast Start-Up disabled, I still get the menu each time. Is this normal?

But - whenever I choose Restart instead of Shut Down, I'm still presented with the full Advanced Boot Options menu, as per the third image in this tutorial, the 'DOS'-looking one. Is this normal behaviour after a Restart? It doesn't worry me, but I'm wondering if it's supposed to happen.

It's slightly annoying that the default option is "Repair Your Computer" rather than "Start Windows Normally", since to continue the boot process I then need to press Up Arrow and then Enter, rather than just Enter.

It's 64-bit Home edition.

A bit of extra info too, though it may not be relevant - With Fast Start-Up disabled, I do see the blue/white Startup Settings screen (fourth image in the tute) once only, after having followed the instructions in this tute. On subsequent boots it's replaced by the black/white Advanced Boot Options version (third image). Then, if I re-apply the changes per the tute, I get the Startup Settings screen, but again, only the first time.

Ideally I prefer to wait until MS pushes updates to me via Windows Update, rather than force them, just in case there's some hardware incompatibility or other that they might know about?
With that in mind, I clicked the Check For Updates button and it installed some, though not that one.
It's now upgraded me to Version 1607 (OS Build 14393.1593)
Behaviours still as described above though. No biggie though really - I was just curious as to whether it was normal, and it doesn't affect my day to day usage. I'll re-check after any more updates though.

Quick update: the 'Creators Update' (Windows v1703) was pushed to my machine last week, and ever since, I no longer get the Advanced Boot Options menu on restarts. (I haven't yet tried enabling it per the instructions in the tutorial - will leave it as-is for the time being, to minimise startup time).

Yes, happy to! I tried:
Option 2: Boot to Advanced Startup Options from Power Menu, and from Ctrl+Alt+Del (Shift+Restart in both cases)
Option 7: Boot to Advanced Startup Options from Command, shutdown /r /o /f /t 00

Happy to report that in all three cases, I was presented with the blue 'Choose an option' screen. After choosing 'Troubleshoot' there are a few more selections to make, then the PC restarts, and I was presented with the blue 'Startup Settings' screen. No more hard-to-read DOS-style menu, and no more menu at all unless I choose so. I'd guess that all of the other options in that tutorial would work just as well.

I'm only guessing that it was the Creators Update that changed the behaviour on my PC - it certainly happened at the same time I applied that update, but can't say for sure if it would have the same effect on other PCs.
