I don't even want to comment that statement. Let's just say this:

The method works perfectly well when done correctly. Here's a screenshot from the PC I am using at this very moment, Windows 10 Education TH2 version 1511 Build 10586.104. The folder Users exists on drive C: but it's empty as it should, all user profiles are located on drive E: as they should:

    Attachment 64169
(Click screenshot once to pop up, then again to enlarge.)
It hadnt worked for me at all.
I had upgraded from 10240 to 1511 and it broke my start menu.
Tried a reinstall with the method above, couldnt get past the "just a moment" screen where it would loop back to the settings.
Installed it normally then tried to move it and it broke the start menu in audit mode and would also not get past the "just a moment" screen and loop back to settings.
    Build version 10586.104 professional.

ISO through Media Creation Tool contains install.esd

    Kari said: View Post
The ISO image created with the tool uses the WIM file. For Media Creation Tool, see tutorial: Windows 10 ISO Download - Windows 10 Forums
The ISO image created by the Media Creation Tool contains install.esd, not install.wim. I wonder if things have changed since this posting.

Where else can I go to be sure to get the install.wim version?

I've had success with this: Convert Install.esd-install.wim Win all download | SourceForge.net
Open source and free aside from the tools used for conversion.

Do you guys read any of the at least most recent posts, or would that be too big an effort? Quote from a post I apparently need to post at least once a week, this from last week:

As I have repeatedly told in this thread, you can download an ISO image with an install.wim file from Microsoft Tech Bench

Hej Rollarn, välkommen till vårt forum

No, you do not have to empty the drive. The important thing is that it does not contain any system elements from a previous or another Windows installation.

System settings under System/Storage/Save locations/ are still C:/

    Kari, Thnx for the tutorial!

I executed method 1 as instructed and it completed as expected. My User folders are now on E: drive within \Users folder.

Still I have one question. I noticed that Win 10 Settings under the option
System/Storage/Save locations/ are still having value This PC (C: ) for all for Apps, Documents, Pictures, Music and Videos settings.

    Is this OK?
    Shouldn't it be I changed to E:/Users?
Should I change the setting to E:/Users manually or is it OK to leave it as it is?

    Thank you for advice!

Yes, it's totally OK. You can leave it as it is, or change it, as you wish. Everything saved in your user profile folder will in any case be saved on E: drive.
