    Brink,
Is the installation media/installer that is for both 32-bit and 64-bit created from the Media Creation Tool, also UEFI bootable?

Also, I've read from a few pages back that you said that the DVD installer of Windows 10 does not support install in UEFI mode, may I ask why is that? I mean should'nt it be UEFI bootable as well (provided that you make the correct settings in the UEFI firmware settings) because the Win10 ISO now contains the proper bootloader for UEFI (unlike in Windows 7)?

All in all, thanks for everything Brink, you're the best!:)
Yep, the 32/64-bit installation media supports UEFI.

You should be able to boot from a DVD with UEFI with today's motherboards, but it's just much easier and faster to use a USB flash drive.

Hi Night Hawk, I understand you downloaded a Windows 10 With both 32 bit and 64 bit in one ISO using the Windows 10 Media Creation tool. May I know the file size of the 32/64bit ISO?

Ok here we go Microsoft. Maybe I should of left well enough alone:

I did get my free copy of Windows 10 Pro and was liking it for the first day. I have had a few ppl tell me to do a clean install and it will run lots better, so me being me, did everything that I was told to by download the Creation Tool making a bootable USB of my windows 10 Pro (AFTER INSTALLING VIA FREE UPGRADE) AND NOW....windows will not activate. Its shows Windows 10 Home not activated, Error Code 0xC004C003.....some of the threads say it may take a few days before it will update again.....OMG REALLY?.....CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP?
Are you sure you downloaded the correct version of Windows 10? You have PRO, but according to post-installation it says HOME. But maybe it's a typo on your part... But if it's not, that could be one of the problems of why it's not activating. Also did you double check that your upgrade did activate prior to the clean install? I understand that if it did not activate the upgrade, it will not allow the clean install as it was not registered in their server.

I just did a clean install on my Surface Pro 2 and it shows activated. I, however, did have problems with MS servers as I couldn't get 2 step verification to work and had to rely on code entry. It also caused a little grief as it kept looping the install because of the product key entry, personalization settings and the 2 step verification process. I was eventually able to setup a local account. Once install was finally finished, I had to go and create a new account with MS sign-in and delete the local account. Yeah, it couldn't change the local to an MS account for some reason. Now I need to reinstall my apps and transfer my data over.

I just might have to end up buying a key later for my main system. I've already gone through 7 reinstalls of Windows 7 x64 Ultimate on it due to hardware failures and upgrades.

And thanks Shawn for the tutorial. :)

When not seeing 10 upgrade over a clone of 7 to a seond drive for a planned dual boot I ran into one particular error where I then saw the message about a failed upgrade. On a few other tries once all setup files were copied and first system restart was seen everything hung right after the 10 Startup logo screen until I hit the reset button.

At first it was assumed I had to wait for the download only after the email notifcation came in which it never did so far still and later when reviewing the guide here I then knew where another problem was besides trying to upgrade over a clone of the 7 host drive for a planned dual boot a clean install of 7 with SP1 would be the solution!

HARDWARE PROBLEMS anyone? Try finding that not only the second but both of the Sata 3 drives on a Sata II 2010 build system were seeing I/O issues it seems! The second Goober alert came when reviewing the guide here and the mention of unplugging any Non OS drives and then finding temp folders and other boot files on the wrong drives following the clean install of 7 to replace the clone for the first sign of a working 10 upgrade over 7! Even when 10 was on and I couldn't add 10 boot entries into 7's BCD and see them work the reverse was finally seen using the 2010 BCD editing program many are familiar with for...? 7 and later 8!

But those two storage drive weren't going to play nicely with 7 anymore whlie 10 would only stall not BSOD or run the Disk Check tool if either or both of the other drives were plugged in! Yet I needed to get files over to the 10 drive from storage and backup for various apps to try out on ten as well as to find out if any softwares and driver sets would still work or not while for that you can expect there would be doubt.

When the first 10 upgrade was successful it activated within a day or so and I would advise as Shawn did to wait and see in case of those first 14 million downloaders of 10 being followed by a 114 million downloaders or more now waiting for activation! I suspect the email notifications as well as everything has been randomized to a certain extent to help prevent the servers from being bogged down! And the one thing to mention here as far as upgrading is you may have to upgrade 10 a second time if you are trying to preserve things since you may find updates for hardwares as well as apps that would otherwise jump on 10 and run run run do run into errors instead seeing their installs fail! With evey other version before 10 clean installs are simply the "Preferred Option" over putting up with things like that!

    Hello again Brink,
This 32-bit and 64-bit Windows 10.iso is single edition only right?

I mean 32bit and 64bit of Home edition only Win10 ISO
-or- 32bit and 64bit of Pro edition only Win10 ISO

    Is that right?

The first thing you see when going to download 10 is the listing for the editions where you pick one only and then go from there to select 32bit, 64bit, or both! Then you proceed on to choosing either the burn to dvd or upgrade now depending on which of the other 3 choices you made due to the combo going over the limit for blank dvds or create media. The next step to come afterwards is still seeing create media with the flash drive option or download as ISO.

Here I download everything as ISO except for the first upgrade attempt following the first clean install 7 which did not work but saw success afterwards when starting the setup.exe found at the root of the flash drive that you would also use for a full clean install but are still in Window for the upgrade. The Combo was found to be 5.5gb requiring an 89gb of larger flash drive while the 64bit alone comes in just a little over 3gb and the 32bit just over 2.5gb on the drive. You can't extract the 32 or 64bit by itself however from the combo so I went for all three with the combo simply to see any upgrades on other machines that may come up as well as having both 32bit and 64bit separately not only for clean installs but possible recovery ops that might be needed later.

Another thing for anyone to note is where to download the Media Creation Tool in one or both flavors depending on if you are running the 32bit or 64bit Windows will be downloaded to. Having a folder to receive the tool or both and perhaps one main folder with a separate sub for each 32bit and 64bit downloads onto to the destination drive for the intended upgrade. And one other thing to expect is the first upgrade sees all files intact from Program Files, Program Files(x86), and the users folders intact while a second upgrade to correct the first if needed before planning a full wipe and clean install of everything won't. So if everything gets stashed in the Windows.old folder and you have to see the second upgrade or clean install preferred ASAP rename the Windows.old to Windows.Backup or Personal as some bloggers would recommend to follow the clean install by being able to copy files back into the new folder of each!

Ok, so you mean you can only pick 1 EDITION in dual architecture. which means the 32bit and 64bit ISO in one only can only have 1 Edition?
